Taking the Train from Venice

Venice’s two main railway stations, Venezia Santa Lucia and Venezia Mestre are both convenient hubs for traveling to and from other Italian cities. Getting into Florence by Train

The city of Florence is served by its main railway station Firenze Santa Maria Novella or Firenze SMN, which is centrally located to the north-west of the city centre at Piazza della Stazione. Upon arrival, it is easy to get in and around the city, either on foot, by taxi or by public transport. The station is very close to the city’s major tourist attractions, such as the Duomo, which takes only a ten-minute walk. Firenze SMN is also the location of the main city bus station, so travel connections are quick and convenient. Alternatively, taxis are available outside the station.
