Buses to Barcelona
Anyone looking for an affordable way to reach the Catalan capital can easily catch buses to Barcelona from all corners of Europe. The city is connected to London via the firm Megabus (with a stop in Paris along the way). Megabus and Movelia run buses to Barcelona from major French cities. For those travelling within Spain, Alsa is the major passenger bus company, and they connect Barcelona to Madrid, Valencia, Bilbao and many other Spanish destinations. The majority of buses to Barcelona arrive at Barcelona Nord, which is close to the city centre. To reach central districts like the Gothic Quarter catch the Metro from the nearby Marina station to Liceu or Drassanes. To get to hotels in Gracia, get off at either Passeig de Gracia or Catalunya.
Barcelona seems to satisfy everyone who visits, which is unsurprising given the range of art galleries, museums, sporting venues and high quality restaurants. Culture is the main attraction in Barcelona - with fantastic galleries devoted to local heroes like Joan Miro or Pablo Picasso, as well as the often outlandish architecture of Antonio Gaudi. Nightlife and fun come a close second though, with fine dining in the Gracia district, bars and clubs by the seafront and the beautifully situated funfair on the slopes of Mount Tibidabo all attracting crowds. During the football season, Barcelona FC is another massive draw, with slick football and a stunning arena at the Camp Nou. Add in Mediterranean weather and friendly locals, and the Barcelona's popularity becomes clear.
