Flights to Rome

As one of the world’s leading tourist and business destinations, Rome is well served with regular direct flights from all over the world. British Airways, Alitalia, Finnair, Delta and United Airlines all fly direct from New York. US Airways flies direct from Chicago, British Airways from Philadelphia, and Alitalia and Air Berlin from Los Angeles. Alitalia also operates direct flights to Rome from Toronto and Montreal in Canada. Daily direct flights from the UK to Rome are frequent, with RyanAir flying from Stansted, easyJet and Vueling from Gatwick, British Airways from Heathrow and Gatwick, and Alitalia from Heathrow. Two airports serve Rome, Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino), and Ciampino which is used by UK budget airlines. Fiumicino is located some 30 kilometres southwest of the city. Leonardo Express trains whisk passengers to Rome’s main railway station Stazione Termini in just 30 minutes. Departures are twice hourly. Terravision Shuttle buses run to Termini with 7 daily services. Also white licensed taxis offering fixed fares are available from the airport taxi rank. Ciampino offers direct coaches into the city with departures coinciding with flight arrivals.

Rome

Few other world cities carry such as weight of history as does the capital of Italy. Visitors can enjoy such iconic sights as the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, and St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, along with canvases by Caravaggio and sculptures by Michelangelo. Despite the rich heritage, today’s Rome is a modern, vibrant place full of color and clamor. The spirit of the Dolce Vita is as potent as it ever was in the scenic streets, ornate churches, homely trattoria, streetside cafes, and bustling piazzas. It also offers a fine dining experience with the world’s finest pizza and pasta offerings washed down by local wines from the surrounding hills.
