What do I need to know about travelling on Thalys trains?

    No, children under 4 years old do not need a ticket on Thalys trains if the child sits on an adult's lap. A "KID" fare should be purchased if a seat is needed. Children under 12 years old are eligible for a flat rate KID fare, which allows children to travel to all Thalys train destinations in Comfort 1 Class for €30 or Comfort 2 Class for €15. All children under 12 years old travelling on Thalys trains must be accompanied by an adult.


    No check-in is required for Thalys trains except on journeys traveling to/from London.


    Thalys offers Economy, Semi-Flexible, and Flexible fares. Thalys also offers Standard, Standard Mini, Comfort, and Premium ticket classes. Kid, Youth, Senior, and Group discounts are also available for these three ticket classes.


    Full Flex


    Tickets can be changed or cancelled before departure for a 100% refund of the original ticket fare. Tickets can also be cancelled up to 1 hour after departure time from the ticket office at the station of departure for a 50% refund.


    Semi Flex


    This ticket is refundable for a 50% fee before the train departs. Alternatively, this ticket is exchangeable for a €15 fee (plus any price difference between the old and new ticket) before the train departs.


    Non Flex
