What do I need to know about travelling on SNCF | TGV trains?

    No, children under 4 years old do not need a ticket on SNCF TGV trains if the child sits on an adult's lap. A "Bambin" (toddler) fare should be purchased if a seat is needed. Children under 12 years old may travel on a 50% discounted "Enfant" (child) fare on all trains except iDTGV routes. All children must have an adult fare when travelling on iDTGV trains.


    Check-in is required 30 minutes before departure for all SNCF TGV trains.


    SNCF TGV offers Prem's, Loisir (Leisure), Loisir Réduit (Reduced Leisure), Pro, Pack Tribu, and Bambin (Child) tickets.


    TGV Leisure


    Ticket can be modified and refunded subject to a €5 fee from 30 days up to 2 day before the departure. The fee will increase to €15 on the day before departure. Any price difference with the new ticket will also have to be paid. The ticket cannot be modified or cancelled after time of departure.


    Semi Flexible


    Ticket can be exchanged or refunded for a 10% fee before time of departure. Ticket cannot be exchanged or refunded after time of departure. Exchanges can only be made in SNCF train stations.

    Yes, all children need a ticket on FlixBus buses. Children under 3 years old must be transported in a child's seat and secured during travel. Children under 15 years old travel at a reduced rate.
